Tora'aro'nuruodo sat in the waiting room of the Imperial Recruitment Office. Brask'ari'sabosen was with him, the pair of Chiss having been accepted to serve as representatives of their houses in the Pesonnel Exchange Program which was designed to gain exposure to other military units in the Known Regions of space. The Sovereign Galactic Empire was the logical choice for the Chiss, as their military was strong, and very formal, much like what the Chiss were already used to. There would be culture shock for sure, but the similarities would at least lessen the shock for the couple.
The pair was indeed a couple, but this would not be public knowledge. Only recently had the pair begun a courtship as their fathers had come to a mutual agreement regarding an arranged marriage of the two in order to unite the houses. Even if the two did not want the marriage the matter had been decided, and it was their duty to oblidge the will of their fathers. The matter of courting according to the custom of their people while serving the Empire was going to be tricky, but the pair was committed to seeing it through, though nervous about it.
They had rehearsed their basic the enitre way to the office. The couple even started using core names in order to get used to answering to them on a regular basis. Aaron was certain the time would come when they would use given names privately in order to feel some connection to their culture, if they weren't separated. The young Chiss was hoping that would not be the case.
Dressed in his uniform, Aaron waited. His demeanor was clam, rigid, stoic, just as a good Chiss officer should be. The wait would be what it was, but at least he had good company, even if there was six inches between them at all times.
