    Telos IV

The Archbishop of Ruusan landed on his personal shuttle given to him by the Penumbra. No, today he wasn't here on business for them in his guise as the Unforgiven. Today he was his public figure self. The Archbishop of Ruusan. Leader of the church there. The Church of the Great Creator. A forefront for his life as a Dark Jedi however it was. A Templar within the organization of the Force users. A secret which will be kept hidden. As long as his breath was still being taken in he would fight to keep the Penumbra a secret.

As he was escorted by two of the Cardinals who were also part of the group, Jacob walked towards the Thani, where he wanted to mingle with those of the New Republic. Hoping to create a church here where those who needed spiritual guidance could find a place. Knowing full well it was an attempt to spy on the NR and their goings on in the galaxy. He found the NR wasn't corrupt. Not yet at least. Jacob just wanted to make sure they stayed that way. Either way he didn't care about them he just wanted justice for all. If they served the purpose then so be it.

When Jacob reached it he then entered the local watering hole. Hoping to find the higher ranked officals of the Republic, the orange and black garbed Archbishop then waved off his Cardinals to do whatever they wished. Explore, shop, whatever. He was here to mingle with them and see where everything stood in their reaches of the galaxy. So, entering the tavern, or what have ya, Jacob then walked to the bar and sat down.

"What'll ya have, sir?" The bartender said with a smirk.

"I'll have a Corellian ale. And a shot of whiskey of the same...Corellian." Jacob said with a smile.

"Weird get up you have on...you someone important? He said raising an eyebrow while pouring a shot into a shot glass and getting an ale outta the fridge.

"In fact I am. I'm the Archbishop of the Church on Ruusan." Jacob said with a wink, "But, I don't feel important."

"Interesting. Well, Archbishop, here ya go." The bartender said with a chuckle sliding over the shot glass and the ale to him.

"Thanks." Jacob said simply then downed the shot.

The thing about coming back from a mission is that you tend to crave the little things. Normally this wasn't so much for Aien, but having been in enemy hands for over a year, he tended to crave the little things a lot. So there he was, fresh out of his web gear, sure he was armed but you'll never know where his weapon is until he wants you to but that was a matter that only needed to be brought up in an emergency.

Craving a medium well nerf burger with a bottomless platter of fries was not an emergency.

So he walked into a local bar & grille he and Zaia frequented since the closure of the Titania. She was on an undercover op so he was going solo tonight, which wasn't a problem so he went up to the bar. There were two gentlemen dressed in red who clearly did not fit the mold of a Telos resident, they were visitors and no doubt answer to the garishly dressed individual downing the shot of Corellia's finest. They were probably personal security, maybe he was a diplomat. Either way the agent took a seat not to far from the individual, not out of suspicion or anything but by coincidence. Placing his order, he spared a quick glance back at the men in red and then the individual, but he didn't say anything.

Jacob took a glance around. Looking from left to right there wasn't too many patrons in here. Which was surprising to him. Then again, it was just starting to become the late evening. No wonder, because, the shuttle that the Archbishop came on didn't leave till mid afternoon. Getting here some time near the evening he then wondered why it was getting dark. Plus, Jacob wasn't concerned with time right at the moment. He was just enjoying his time. May as well right? Being an Archbishop didn't have to be about work and no play.

Casting a glance to his right, Jacob then saw a guy sitting not too far down. Giving him a quick nod he then took his ale in one hand, his right, and took a few sips. Noting that the guy glanced at him again he then shrugged. Jacob didn't think much of it because he got weird glances all the time. Good thing he cut his ponytail off a while back. It was starting to get a bit longer again but not as much as he figured. His hair grew fast most of the time but now that he was nearly 40, well, save a couple years from being there he was rather fine with slowing down a bit.

The guy he looked at and nodded to looked like he was from the NR at least somewhat. Then again he could be wrong. He could ask, but, he wasn't gonna intrude on the guys night out. Whatever night out it was for him. Either way he figured more people would show up eventually now that the night was just starting.

        Oh brother...

The garish looking individual with the bodyguards wants to talk but doesn't want to look like he does. This sort of thing was supremely irritating, but Aien was good at going with the flow. After all maybe the guy was some kind of important on his planet and was "slumming it" here. The agent really wasn't looking to explain himself to anyone or be a part of a story that someone would tell back on their home planet. That being said he was working on his social skills, after all being in the shadows is good for the job, but he wasn't on the clock.

Again the guy looked his way and took a drink of his ale, what was he waiting for? Maybe the guy thought that Aien recognized him or was shy, but it wasn't the case. Then there was the ring he was wearing, it was the type that Aien had seen before on Onderon, worn by an Evangelist. Was this guy a zealot? Maybe, maybe not, but one thing was clear, the agent's profiling skill training was paying off. Whatever the guy was trying to be, he didn't hide it very well. Nice Cover.

It was an open ended statement, it could go to anyone. It all depended how one responded to it.

Jacob then looked over when the man spoke to him. With a raised eyebrow he wondered what he was meaning by that. Either way Jacob didn't care but just wondered what that meant exactly. So, Jacob then cast a glance at him with his eyebrow raised.

"For what?" Jacob said, "You think I'm covering for something?"

Taking a swig of his ale the Archbishop then looked around again. Maybe this guy was part of the NR. Seemed like it. Or else he was someone in Intel? Definitely not the Army or Navy. Didn't seem like he fit in the armed forces of the New Republic. Either way Jacob was glad someone talked to him. Seemed kinda quiet other then those two sitting there.

"Anyone else around here? Or is it always quiet?" Jacob asked.

Taking a bite of his burger and letting things sit silent for a moment or two, mainly because he didn't want to talk with a full mouth he finally reacted to the garishly dressed individual. Almost as if he was surprised that someone was talking to him. Are you covering for something? He shrugged. I was thinking outloud. It wasn't a lie. He was thinking about the guys tells, he was good, almost masterful and Aien wouldn't press the matter any more than he already, it was just an interesting starter.

I come here when it's quiet so I couldn't tell you. I'll leave you alone though, sorry if I insulted you. He didn't care really if he did or not, the guy was "from out of town", but it was a good way to give a person an out if they wanted it which he could if he was looking for someone else to talk to like his word choices might mistakenly suggest.

"Nope. Just a man looking to build a church here. If only I could ever get in contact with anyone here who's high ranking. Seems like they got more on their plates then anything else. Don't blame 'em though. There is a war going on." Jacob said with a chuckle, "No you didn't insult me, it's all good."

He then raised his mug and then took a sip from it. Either way Jacob was having fun. It's better then being stuck around nobles and the like all day on Ruusan. Sometimes it was good to be 'himself' outside of the Penumbra. Although most records of him either then the ones here and there on Yavin VIII were gone. Most wouldn't know who 'Jacob Murano' was. Good thing cuz if they did they'd know he was a former Jedi Knight. That was a long time ago though. Very long time.

"Eh, sometimes it's good to come to places where it's quiet. Gives ya time to think though. Sometimes it can be lonesome though. Been there, done both." Jacob said then waved over the bartender to pour another shot of whiskey.

A church? Why? Why here? Why not on Corellia? Or Naboo? He knew full well how the question sounded, and it was okay but it was genuine. Telos was the capital of the New Republic, sure, but it was a rock, nothing special about it. The guy appeared to be a Deacon, maybe even a priest but he drank too easily for one who was devoted to a life of servitude and not merely ordained. No, Aien wasn't going to press the matter, but while this man may be of the cloth, there was more to him that would reveal itself one day.

Haven't seen a church since back home on Onderon, might be interesting. If you want to talk to someone "important" there's always the capitol building. Stand around long enough people will eventually root you out.

"People gotta believe in something don't they?" Jacob said with a shrug, "I'm in the process of getting one built on Naboo. It's just a long drawn out process."

Taking another drink, the Archbishop then set his mug down. When the bartender poured another shot of whiskey for him he then took it and downed it. Although the views on his church were more modern and not so restrictive in terms of drinking and doing whatever the church itself was modern enough that it allowed most to do as they wished. Either way he was the leader of it and Jacob had built it for the reason of having people of the galaxy to have something to believe in.

"Although I figured they might come here for some odd reason. Then again I just needed a reason to mingle with everyone. But, I figure some will come by eventually." Jacob said with a smirk.

I'm not a government expert, but if you are "in the process of getting one built on Naboo" why would you have a problem building one here? He asked, suddenly interested in the conversation. Naboo has it's own provincial government, but all permits of that nature go through the Capital last I knew. If you went through the process already you shouldn't have issue with building one on Telos, right?

Aien wasn't trying to call the man out for lying, maybe he didn't know all of the procedures, but he knew what he knew about permits, especially since he needed one for a cover he worked once. As for having to believe, I'm not practicing anymore but my family were Naddists. I've become "Agnostic", I don't judge, but I believe in what I do and what I do it for.

"I'd rather ask then just straight up build one. Things go much smoother that way. On Naboo I had to get permission from the residential government there, yes. Still getting all the paperwork to go through. That's what takes the most time. Fill out this form...sign this...file that." Jacob said taking a swig then glancing towards Aien again.

When the man spoke of his own beliefs he then nodded. Everyone had them either way. You believed in something most of the time. Really Jacob believed in the Force. There were other religions he was exposed to back on Tattooine, but, they weren't for him. So, taking another swig of his ale he then set it down gently onto the bar. Casting a glance back at Aien he then chuckled.

"Naddists huh?" Jacob said with a smirk, "Well, as long as you believe in something that's all that matters. Everyone does I'm sure."

It's just one of those days...

-He was happy overall to get out of the office. Luckily, there were those officers who could handle all the day-to-day stuff. Everything from training regiments, missions, and even paperwork. Really the only thing Tal had to do was sit in meetings with CoS Adrian and Director Ilana. All of which was talk about strengthening the NR and improving on certain aspects that seemed to be dull. Well Tal stood quiet through the whole thing unless Magge or Adrian put the spot light on him or asked for an opinion concerning a matter. Those two seemed to work a little harder then the mandalorian HG. Even moving freely outside the base was a little hard too. The media overall wanted questions from the High General, and this was just something he wasn't inclined to answering.-

-Plus side was; over the months the High General's appearance had changed some. He was a little taller and he had grown his hair out a little more now. Compare that to when he first joined the NR; most of the time it was tied in a braid or ponytail. However, it was just long enough to cover his ears and over his eyes enough so he could push it aside (reference: look at my avatar).-

-It was a nice day to get out and relax. Kote wasn't at all expecting to stop at a place to grab a bite to eat or drink. But why not? This would be all the free-time he had till his officers called or he received a call from Adrian or Magge. And the destination was none to familiar to the blond mandalorian. Dressed only casually; he stepped into the "restaurant" -- guess that is what one would call it -- and made his way over to a seat at the bar. Almost instantly he recognized one individual. However, the other... he wasn't so sure of. Yellow eyes focused forward waving down the bartender.-

"I'll have some tea with honey and cinnamon, please." -Kote's accent was rather thick and heavy. Some of the words he spoke seemed to mix in a little with mando'a (mandalorian language) while others stood out. Simply the bartender nodded and walked off to prepare the glass for Kote without so much as a word.-

No, I get what you mean. What I was saying though is you can get the permits for everything in the Capital, one stop shopping. You get it here, you speed it up there. It was true if he what he read was correct, it was nothing special and people do that sort of thing every day. Then the guy scoffed in the comment about religion, but it was natural. Most people make the connection between the ancient Sith Lord and his band of followers, he did too. It was why he was Agnostic, he believed in something, he wasn't sure what though.

Then a Special Forces Guy walked in and he nodded. The kid was Mandalorian, he knew that but he didn't know much else. He hadn't really paid attention to the military hierarchy since he was in it, no point in that now, no disrespect though.

Jacob nodded, "I'll be sure to remember that. Thanks for the info."

Once another man stepped in sitting down and ordering tea he then smirked. The guy did seem pretty young. But, Jacob was in his late thirties now and it seemed that his age was beginning to show. Sometimes he felt really old and other times he felt like he did when he was young. When he first joined the Jedi. Although he then got a notion to be a good sport and buy the next round for both he and Aien. That and buy Tal's tea for him.

Looking to the bartender he then said, "Put it on my tab. I figure I'll be a good sport and pay for both mine and these two guys' drinks."

As he cast his glance over at Aien he said with his hand outstreched, "Name is Jacob."

Then Jacob looked back towards Tal and gave him a head nod with a wave of his other hand. He looked the type to be in the Army but not knowing what rank he would be. Twas hard to tell on his side of things. Usually he wasn't too keen on knowing ranks of anyone by looks. Then again he wasn't the sort to care either. He'd seen plenty of older individuals being at the lowest part of the totem pole. Much like he was when he joined the Sith and then the Dark Jedi.

-With all things considered; Tal was only 19-years-old. He was deemed as the youngest High General in the NR. And so far he has only been in the NR for a good three or so years... yeah he joined when he was 16-years-old. So to get this far in three short years was quiet an accomplishment. Some questioned that very decision to have him as the High General. Either saying he was "to young", "inexperienced", or "incapable". But that was all backed by letters of recommendations from the Intel director and the SpecOps commander. Even the chief of state Adrian Loran had seen through the man's military background that he had something to show as a leader. Overall, Tal's very own background spoke for itself in the New Republic... even if this meant no one believing it. So it really didn't bother him to get strange looks or nasty words.-

-Nodding to Jacob; he accepted the drink as it approached him. He wasn't really expecting the stranger to be buying his drink. Heck, even Tal didn't know this man and yet he was being a "good sport". Grasping the drink in his hand; Kote's bright yellow eyes moved over to Aien. Overall the mandalorian was a little unsure what to think of the stranger he was talking to. Not many would simple come to Telos and purchase a drink for a member of the NR. In fact, most people who came had a special kind of grudge against the military and government.-

"Thanks," -Kote finally said to Jacob. Sipping on his drink he didn't know whether to say something further to Jacob or keep to himself. After all he had picked up a few silent treatment acts from the Intel department. But that didn't mean he had to act like them. Setting the drink down Kote took a breath of air and exhaled.-
