    The Living Quarters (Open)

Callista leaned back in her chair; her booted feet crossed at the heels and propped up on the corner of her desk. She stretched her arms up before placing them behind her head and twisting the chair just enough to get a good view of her room.

The door rested open, a single path zigzagging from the hall to the desk, to the bedroom, and then the small kitchenette. Boxes were stacked three to four high against bare walls and out along the carpeted floor. A few of them even lay open, revealing the gadgets and trinkets she had gathered in her smuggling days. It looked as though she was ready to move out, when in fact she had never moved in. It had been well over a year, almost two, since she had joined the Sith Empire and brought the belongings with her to her knew home, yet they still remained in the exact same place that she had set them. The only furniture that graced the living quarters was a bed and dresser in the room adjacent, a sofa, a chair, and the desk she sat at. The desk was completely bare of papers, pictures, anything. The cool gray metal lightly covered in a film of dust. Her brows furrowed slightly. The desk must have been a standard piece of furniture in all the quarters. She really had no need of it other than to sit at and she had a cushioned couch and chair for that.

She barely ever found herself occupying her room unless resting for the night. It just seemed silly to take a day and unpack when she could be out training or doing something useful. Looking at it now, it seemed silly to have not unpacked after such a period of time.

Seeing as how things were quiet at the Empire, she thought about just taking a couple days to decorate and remodel her room.

~Alisa was just returning from her evening walk around the compound when she decided it was time to get to know those who had quarters on either side of her. Walking past her dwelling and then stopping at the first door on the left, she gave a light knock and waited to see if anyone was there.~

Callista let her feet fall from the desk, landing with a solid thud against the floor. Her hands moved to her knees as she pushed herself up and slid around the furnishing to the first open box decorating her floor. A frown emitted as she propped her palms on her hips and glared down at the objects that were nestled in the crate. This actually wouldn’t be as easy as she had thought. Just as she bent down to retrieve the first bauble to unpack a light rapping sounded at the door. Callista tilted her head in that direction then straightened and arched her back to actually see the entrance. The door had been left open since Callista had first come in. A slender feminine figure now occupied the way. A delicate brow arched, as she didn’t recognize who it was. She was sure she had seen the woman around before.

“Come in,” she prompted, taking a step back to squarely face the guest.

~Alisa entered the room and looked upon the woman standing inside. She did not recognize her and decided it was time to stop being a stranger to others in the Sith Empire.~

"Hello. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Sith Warrior Alisa Sha. I was hoping to get out and meet other members since I am usually known for being rather reclusive. Well and especially since my quarters are just next door too."

~She laughed slightly and then smiled at the woman.~

She took a step forward offering a hand as Alisa introduced herself. “Pleasure to meet you. Callista Ming.” She gripped Alisa’s hand firmly and shook it once, returning the polite smile. “Next door, huh? Funny how we haven’t crossed paths before…” a dark brow arched slightly in thought. “Funny how I haven’t crossed paths with any of my neighbors in this corridor...” She snorted once, then jabbed a thumb back over her shoulder indicated the mass amounts of rubbish along her floor. “Was just unpacking. Thought it might be a good idea after being here over a year.”

~Alisa smiled and shook her hand in return.~

"It is good to meet you too, Callista. Yes, I know what you mean about not completely settling in yet. I think I still have a few trunks that have yet to be unpacked as well."

~She looked around the room and then back at Callista.~

"Do you need a hand with anything? Or am I interrupting? Because I can leave and come back later if you would prefer."

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by Callista on 08-27-2002 12:24 AM:

"Ah no." She waved a hand, dismissing the very thought of Alisa interrupting. "If you're really feeling ambitious...you could help me unpack."

Her hands found their way to her hips as she shifted to a one-foot balance, a posture she most found herself in. "I guarantee it won't be much fun." She snorted slightly as she looked at the mess around her feet. "No fun at all...."

~Alisa smiled and looked around the place. There were boxes scattered everywhere and the Sith Warrior didn't seem to see any labels of any sort.~

"Well it needs to be done and what are comrades for, right? Hm, well where do you want to start? Are the boxes in any kind of order?"

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by Callista on 08-31-2002 12:36 PM:

"If only they were in order...I don't remember what is in where or where is what." She snorted again. "Perhaps I should just dump the contents on the floor and start from there." Of course that wasn't such a great idea and wouldn't help but make things more impossible, nonetheless it seemed a plausible start for her at the moment. She lifted the box that she had been rummaging around in and tipped it over, letting the objects fall to the ground around her feet. If they were breakable...she didn't care.

One object in particular caught her attention. "Well...where'd that come from?" Tossing the empty box to the side, she bent down to retrieve the metal piece - an older version of the vibroblade. "Heh...I used this is a kid."

~Alisa smiled and thought this might be fun. She then called upon the darkness within and levitated two boxes and then turned them upside down as the contents fell to the ground.~

    "Am I doing this right?"

~She laughed as she looked at the mess she contributed to the floor and then back at Callista.~

Callista laughed along side Alisa. “Looks like a mess to me…perfect.” She grinned and bent down to sit on her haunches, sifting through the objects that lay scattered on the ground. “I don’t know where half of these …things even came from.” She quickly set aside the vibroblade that was still occupying her hand, then began pushing things back and forth, trying to see all that lay on the floor. “If you find something you’d like, just ask…I’m sure I have no need of it.”

~Alisa blinked and looked back over at Callista.~

"You mean you're giving your stuff away? Isn't your room going to be really empty then?"

~She looked down to the large pile of items in the middle of the room and then back to Callista.~

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Posted by Callista on 09-08-2002 09:23 PM:

She peered back at Alisa with the same look of bewilderment. “Have you not seen the mass amounts of junk I have? I could give away ninety percent of it all and still have too much for this room.” Callista winked and turned back to her rubbish on the floor.

“Oh…look at this…” The corner of a holo image underneath a box caught her attention. She lifted the edge of the box up and quickly retrieved the photo…then dropped it with a short gasp...

Posted by Alisa Sha on 09-14-2002 12:48 AM:

~Upon hearing Callista's gasp, Alisa immediately dropped what she was doing. As the items crashed to the floor, she ran over to where Callista stood frozen.~

    "What is it? What's wrong?"

Posted by Callista on 09-16-2002 08:13 PM:

The holo image fell to rest on the floor once again. Callista stared at it, eyes wide with shock. Alisa came rushing over, but the Knight did not acknowledge her approach in anyway. Several minutes passed, not a word uttered. Finally, Callista pried her eyes from the forsaken image, tilting her head to look at Alisa. “I’m sorry…I…I just…” The words failed to form on her tongue. Her hands clenching tightly into fists and in a sudden fit of rage, she lashed out with a booted foot, kicking the picture and several near objects. It nailed the wall and broke on impact, the holo sparking and fading away.

Her face, contorted in arrant repulsion, quickly softened as she turned back to regard Alisa. A perplexed woman met her gaze and Callista felt she owed an explanation. “My parents…Although I’m not so sure I should claim them as such now.”

~Alisa looked over at Callista and wasn't really sure what to say..~

"I don't mean to pry, but..what happened to them?"

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The memory of her family’s betrayal flashed through her mind and she growled. “Nothing, unfortunately…My father still lives…as does my half brother. However, I plan on remedying such a dilemma…soon.”

Callista’s return to her family after her accident was something she had hoped would be a joyous occasion, but she found that her mother had committed suicide and her father remarried with a new son. It had been her ultimate undoing and the reason she had left Chad III. Her nostrils flared at the memory that the holo had laid bare.

A slight movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention and she realized that Alisa still stood there. Swallowing hard, Callista dared to tilt her head to glance at her. “I’m being a horrible hostess, aren’t I?” Half chuckling, she let a smile cross her face.

"You're going to kill your father and half brother? What did they do to you to invoke such a wrath?"

~Alisa had been angry at her relatives from time to time but she could not remember actually plotting their death at any point so Callista's dilemma perplexed her greatly.~

A soft chuckle escaped her lips as she squatted down to gather up a few more trinkets. She would have to keep herself busy while explaining so as not to show too much emotion. “Betrayal…My mother committed suicide and my father didn’t even hesitate to remarry. Shows how much he truly cared for her…and me. To make matters worse, he engendered a child with her. Complete lack of affection for his previous family…” Lifting her head from her rummaging, she looked up at Alisa. “Tell me about your family. I hardly know of the Sha legacy.”

~Alisa chuckled lightly at the word "legacy".~

"Well.. let's see, I am the Princess of Ord Mantell, and the half sister to Sith Master Rama Sha. My mother and father are both deceased and I have another half brother named Trace Sha who is a Sith Lord and who I haven't seen in quite some time actually. I was raised to be a bride for a Prince of some far off world.. a Prince that I wasn't even going to be allowed to have a choice in. And well you could say I really didn't like that option one bit, but my parents, the King and Queen, seemed to think they could choose the best suitor for me.

When I was 12, a revolution took place. I watched in horror as my own parents were executed. The next part is kind of fuzzy.. but I was taken away to some kind of a lab where I was subjected to alot of medical tests and then eventually shoved into a stasis pod and put into suspended animation.

I awoke a year later and escaped the compound to seek out my lost family members and this is how I found my brother Rama and the Sith Empire. I find the Empire to be my home away from home and I'm beginning to feel a part of everything here at last."

    ~She looks over at Callista.~

"Well, that's my story. It's not really much of a legacy in my opinion, but it is my life."

Callista shrugged as she continued to move about, picking things up. There was so much…she almost wanted to call a droid in a have it torch it all. Would make things much easier.

“That Prince you were suppose to marry…is he still around?”
