Mid-Afternoon- Outside the Training Grounds- Heavy Rain

Hayden raced through the jungle, dodging trees and leaping over overturned logs. He had gotten a distress signal from Sky, his friend since before coming to the Sith Temple that she was under attack by wolves. His vibrosword slung across his back, her signal was close yet there was no sound of screams.

Using his hand as a visor for the rain, Hayden made it to the clearing where her signal came from. He frantically looked around for her through the curtain-style rain, calling out her name loudly. Something told him to bring more people to help him, but he didn't have the time. He just hoped she was alright.

Sky sat on the soaked ground twenty feet in front of Hayden, her eyes closed and a vibrodagger in her right hand. "So you came." She shouted over the roaring rain and heavy winds. A strong storm system was surging right on top of the temple "I figured you would."

Sky stood up and turned around to face Hayden who she could barely see in the blinding rain. "There never was any danger, Hayden." The rain burned her eyes but she didn't bother to blink away any of it since more would replace what was gone in less than half a second.

No danger? What was she talking about? "Sky, you said there were wolves out here! I haven't seen you since you landed here. This your idea of a joke? Let's get back inside before we're both hit with lightning!" From the way she didn't budge, he could tell something else was up.

He extended his hand without taking another step closer. Something was wrong. Something was very wrong with the entire situation. "Come on! Take my hand and we'll get outta here together." The rain surged heavier for a moment and thunder boomed above following a quick flash of threatening lightning. The trees all around them swayed and curved with the blowing wind.

"I'm not going back inside yet. And neither are you." Sky's voice was full of hate yet sorrow at the same time. She had a feeling there was another way but her mind told her that killing Hayden was the only way she could be closer to Jack without Hayden getting jealous and attempting a ploy on her life. They were friends before and she even saved his life. Why did he have to die now? Why should he have to die? For a moment she second guessed her entire motive and considered taking his hand.

No. Hayden needed to die. The setting was perfect. The heavy rain would destroy his sight, making it an easy kill. Where they were outside the Training Grounds would be the perfect place to stage a death. The rainwater would mix his blood into the pooled water and once the rain ended and clean air rose from the ground, so would his scent and wolves really would be in the area to pick his corpse clean. It was either now or never. If she didn't kill him now, she'd never get another chance again.

Sky smiled devilishly through the rain and walked towards Hayden with her left hand out to grab his right hand, but before she reached him, she swiped with the dagger in her own right hand in such a way that if it connected, it would split the meat of Hayden's palm right open.

Hayden quickly retracted his hand by dropping it down, just missing the blade's perfect cut. He knew it. He quickly unsheathed his vibrosword from his back and began circling Sky. "I knew it would eventually come to this. All of this to cover your butt." He laughed with the sword low at his side.

"I've seen the way you are with our master. Yeah I lied about when I said I haven't seen you before here, but messing around with people like you, you have to keep secrets to stay alive. But you'd know all about that, right? How can you do that to him, Sky? You lead him on to think that you love him. I've seen it all. It's what I do....it's what we do. We were trained by the same guy before all of this, remember?"

"But I do love him, Hayden." Sky circled with him now, the two creating a large circle with their path. "Jack is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I won't let you ruin that from your jealousy. I've never loved you, Hayden. I've always come close but I could never lead myself to say those words. No. Not like how it feels when I say it to Jack. It actually means something then."

Close combat with weapons was never really her thing but Sky knew she was faster than Hayden and in her mind, speed outclassed skill. If you can't hit your target, you tire yourself out no matter how good you are and leave yourself open to be struck. That was going to be Hayden's downfall and ultimately his demise.

"And all of this is just because you're scared I'm gonna have you killed? You're afraid of me going to the Council and letting them know of your fraternization with your own master? You're living a life of fear, Sky. Don't worry though. You won't have to worry about that life any longer. We were friends before all of this but you bring me out here in the rain for this?" He snickered and wiped the bottom of his nose free of rain water with his left thumb. "You're right. One of us isn't returning back up that hill. Sorry to say though, but I'm a little late for dinner with a certain female disciple I met the other day. So let's wrap this up and you just lay down for me, eh?"

Sensing the circle was at its end, Hayden closed the distance from Sky, gripping the hilt of the vibrosword in both hands and arcing upward with a furious strike. It was time to get this show on the road.

Sky's eyes widened and squinted as Hayden broke through the blinding rain and went on the offensive. Even if she wanted to change her mind, it was over now. It was either kill or be killed at this point. This wasn't the first time she was put in this situation.

Sidestepping right and out of the way of his attack, Sky rolled forward in the direction he had just come from, now appearing behind him. She sliced with four quick swipes from her dagger with alternating altitudes at her enemy.

Hayden spun around quickly on his heels in the mud after watching her roll and raised his blade invertedly to meet the first swipe with the cold metal of his blade. He shifted his sword left and the right until finally the last of her assault came before he could return the pressure. He flipped his blade back right side up and ducked under what could of been another high attack before kicking outward at her abdomen.

Sky's assault was cut short by a strong kick into her stomach forcing her stumbling backwards, the sound of his boot slapping her wet long sleeve turtleneck in its center sounding just as loud as thunder. She knew he was good but he was better than she thought. "Lay down your weapon, Hayden, and I'll grant you a quick death. Frell, if you don't wanna die, I will even give you one chance at leaving Munto Codru to never return. This will be your only chance at mercy."

Hayden laughed at her confidence. It was admirable, yet foolish at the same time. "You speak as though you're winning, girl. Our battle just started, sweetheart. Don't look tired on me now." He reached behind him.

"Oh and uhh...this is my only response to your little mercy. Bringing a gun to a knife fight. To fight with honor is to fight with restrictions. Honor never wins wars, actions do." Bright lightning flashed and the second it did, Hayden retrieved a blaster pistol, firing one shot right at Sky's left thigh.

"How's that for a lesson in being merciful? That's why you aren't Sith material!" He shouted over the increasing rate of rain. Tossing his pistol off to his right, he unbuttoned his shirt, removing it and tossed it to the muddy ground next to the pistol.

The blaster bolt slammed into her left thigh and the female disciple fell to her knees, dropping her dagger in the process. Screams of anguish and torment escaped her and drowned out the sound of rushing waters. Smoke puffed from the charred flesh area and Sky held the wound in one hand and held the ground with her other, gripping a handful of thick mud as if it would help with the pain. Sky couldn't die here. Not here. Not now. Reaching down, she grabbed her dagger again. She couldn't even walk on her left leg right now. The muscles and tendons were burned and the nerves were damaged. Beaten but not counted out, Sky pointed her foot downward for support in her limp on her left leg.

"Only a coward would do such a thing! You shot me, you frak! You deserve death, Hayden!"

The rain was cold as it ran down his naked chest and got caught up in the ridges of his well-toned abs. Hayden retrieved his other pistol he had stashed away in his pants behind him from the opposite side that the first one was on. Aiming it at Sky, he laughed with his finger on the trigger. "I could kill you right now, baby, but I'm not gonna do that. Not like this at least." He let go of the wet grip and let the pistol spin on his trigger finger before he dropped it on the ground with the rest of his items.

"You had so much potential, Sky. We could of had the galaxy at our fingertips, but you let love get in your way. It clouded your judgement and forced you to do something rash." He examined his blade from top to bottom, turning on the vibration trigger and watching the blade shiver at a blinding speed. "Last words are for the worthy. You Sky...you are unworthy. I want Jack to feel your demise all the way from the temple. Goodbye, dear friend." He took two steps toward Sky, spun on his heels fluidly with blade in hand, with one strike to disarm her, followed by a backwards stab aimed right at Sky's chest.

Sky's blade raised high as he spun around but his attack was like a dance. It was like he knew where her weapon was the entire time, knocking it free and into the bushes and stabbing backwards and right into her chest, piercing her from the front and to extend four inches from her back. A gasp escaped Sky. All sound went quiet. The lightning flashes flickered and she could feel the boom of the thunder but couldn't hear anything. The penetrating blade burned from her chest and set a warm feeling up her throat and to her lips. Blood.

Hayden yanked forward with his blade, pulling it free from her body. "Weak." He quickly spun around and caught her before she fell backwards and lowered her to the ground. "To steal this piece of my master from him means to breathe new life into him. No more will he be distracted. The Sith Assassins need a leader not a pretender in charge. How else did they disappear? A fool was leading them. I will not see history repeat itself. I will not. Die, Sky. Die and call to Jack through the Force. I want him to know what has transpired here."

He stood up and towered over her bleeding body, warm blood pouring from both her wound and her lips. Her injuries were too severe to of survived.

Raising his blade up high over Sky, he inverted it so the blade end pointed down at her face. Her final execution to end her misery.
