Ray of light...
Peace, a feeling that should move the whole galaxy. However, still a feeling yet to be known by many.
Nevertheless that was not the case here. Peace, could be felt all around, all the things living in harmony, from the smallest of creatures to the biggest of beings, this is the way it's meant to be.
It has been quite a journey. It has been a path that could have break many people's will. But not his, he was here, and not only was he far from tired, but even stronger. The Jedi Temple was in sight. Excitement could hardly be contained within his being.
As he approached the door, he was kind of nervous. Would he be worthy? Would he be accepted? If so, would he succeed? All these were questions that wandered the newcomer's mind. Yet, without even knowing he had already made his way inside.
All of a sudden he found himself right in the middle of the Recruitement Hall. He couldn't but wonder at such a marvelous side. So much power, yet so much peace, all found within these walls.
"Greetings exhalted ones. I am Dante Aidán, I mean no disrespect by just showing up here at your sanctuary. It is my desire to be instructed in The Force, and make of the Jedi arts my way of life."
When saying this he knelt on one knee and bowed his head, showing the due respect to the members of the Jedi Order. Patiently he awaited a reply.

"Greetings, Dante," a warm voice just off to Dante's left rang out to him.
Slowly the speaker of the voice moved forward. A woman flourished in brown robes stepped toward Dante, bowing respectfully before the man.
"Welcome to Students of the Light. I am Amalia Azalin, a Jedi Master of this sanctuary."
The woman smiled at Dante, it was a smile filled with warmth and peacefullness.
"Your desire perhaps may be granted. We all have our own reasons for seeking the Lightside of the force, tell me, what is yours?"

"I seek redemption. Condemned I am and the only way to save myself is thru the light"
A cold and sorrow look could be seen in Dante's eyes as these words left his mouth. Inner demons seemed to haunt his very soul. There is nothing he wants more than foregiveness. This is his last chance to redeem himself. It could be his salvation.

Amalia was a little surprised by the man's words, not by what he had said, but as to how he thought.
"Forgive me for saying so, Dante, but the Light is not the only way for you to seek redemption..."
Amalia paused as she crossed her arms, the look upon the Jedi Master's face showed that she was studying the man rather intensely.
"You seek forgiveness..."
Amalia smiled lightly, nodding her head a little.
"Forgiveness starts within, Dante. It is fine if you are forgiven by others for what you may have done, however, that forgiveness will do you no good if you do not forgive your own self. Do you forgive yourself, Dante?"

"M'lady, you need not apologize for expressing your opinion, your words could not be filled with more truth. However it I who have done wrong"
Dante stepped closer to the Jedi Master, he could see her very soul filled with peace and joy, something the hope-to-be-padawan, had never in his life known.
"I can not fight fire with fire. The only way for me to come out of the darkness is through the light, I am willing to forgive myself, but in order fot it to be a true forgiveness I need to make it up to those to whom I have done wrong. I have to give something back. I can only do so by becoming a keeper of the peace"
As these words were leaving the newcomer's mouth, he was stepping back a bit. Truth could be heard within his voice.

Amalia looked at Dante thoughtfully as she carefully thought over his words. After a moment, the Jedi Master slowly nodded her head, as if acknowledging Dante's words.
"Very well, if you feel that this is what will be best for you, then I see no reason for snyone here not to grant your request..."
Amalia paused as she tilted her head to the side, looking at Dante in a curious manner.
"May I ask what you have done that you feel you need redemption for?"

"M'lady, your presence commands obedience. If so you desire my story I will share. However, I hereby acknowledge you it is rather unpleasant"
Daunte's face acquired a look of sorrow, nostalgia, regret, even more pronnounced than when he spoke for the first time.
"I want to make clear that whatever is said in this room, it's something I'm not proud of. I'm filled with repent and wish I could change what I've done, but I can't. A man makes choices and then must learn to live with them. My main concern is that what I say in this chambers, would not be an obstacle for me to join this prestigious order"
"Now before I carry on, I would also like to state that in a way I would like to keep my past for myself, at least for right now, I don't think I'm ready to share it, not just yet. However, I must ask; are you sure you would like for me to carry on, m'lady?
The newcomer's face seem to be one of a very tough man. However, watery eyes, almost tears could be seen in his gaze.

The Jedi Master could sense the man's feelings through the force, so many emotions. Amalia could tell that the man had his pride, and he held onto it well, and he did it honorably, even with what lingered within the room now.
Before Amalia spoke again, she locked eyes with Dante. She held his gaze for a very long time before speaking, mostly to take note of the hidden emptions he held within his gaze.
Her gaze had been void of any emotion as she searched his eyes, but after she had finished looking, her gaze turned soft.
The Jedi Master's gaze did not waver as she began to speak again, as softly as she could.
"I do not know you, Dante, nor does anyone else here. It would not be right of anyone here to judge you simply because of your past. I ask to hear your story only because I wish to understand why you seek redemption, not so that I can judge you. If you so do not wish to tell me, or anyone else here, your story, than you do not have to do so. Your past is just that, your past. I will not and can not condemn what I feel I have no right to condemn."

Daunte looked at the woman, with the words he heard, he could not help but feel comfort. Of finally being in a place, where he would not be judged. A place where probably he wouldn't be understood, because he wasn't certain if other Jedis would share his story, but a place where he could find what he was looking for: inner peace, foregiveness, redemption, to be able to give something back. Aware he was, that he could not change his past, but that awareness also dictated that he was able to write his future.
"Very well m'lady, your wish is my command"
"My hands are not only stained but soaked with innocent blood. I do not really remember my childhood days. I did not know my father, nor do I know if he died or abandoned us. My mother died while giving birth to me. I was raised by my grandparents, until the Empire wiped out our home planet."
"I was witness to the slaying of my mother's parents, how they were killed so ruthless, so viciously, with great accuracy, yet quite a large bloodlust. Seemed the killers were one of those few people in the galaxy who love their jobs"
The man paused for a minute. Trying so hard to go back to those days, trying to discover who really was, who he really is.
"I was taken by the troopers and trained as one of them. After several years of training I ascended within their ranks, wipping out planets, doing to others, what had been done to me as a child."
"After several years, I was taken apart from the Beta-ZX3 squadron, to become part of an elite SWAT team. Plan recovery, torture, murder, were only some of the tasks I performed there."
Daunte's voice was been interrupted by gasps and sighs of his own. He seemed to choke in his own words, just remembering the horrible things he did, was enough for him to almost "hate" himself for what he had done.
"When the Empire fell. I had nowhere to go, nothing to do, so I decided to make a living of the only thing I really knew how to do, killing, I became a hitman. I would kill for money and become one of the best at it"
Suddenly the man stopped as if he were lost in his own thoughts, trapped in his own mind.
"While part of the Imperial Army, we were taught not to have a concience, but once I was done and had real contact with the outside world I became aware of what pain and suffering meant"
"One day, while performing one of my 'tasks' I saw myself reflected in a child's eyes. I had murdered his parents, he had wirnessed it, I could see the horror in his eyes, the hate, the desperation...."
The man raised his hands, facing his palms, he could still see the crimson warm liquid, known as blood, still dripping from his hands, his expression filled with horror, he found the courage to continue.
"Seeing the kid's face, I remember what I felt that day when I was witness to my grandparent's murder. All of a sudden I realized all the pain and suffering of which I was bearer, My whole life passed right in front of me within a matter of seconds."
"All I remember is me running, thinking of all the harm I had done, and the pain I had caused, thinking of a way to forgive myself, to make things better. I realized nothing I could do would bring that kid's parents back to life, so I just kept running and running and running, until I couldn't run anymore. Next thing I knew I found myself in an old woman's house she had gave me shelter and tended to my woulds, I must have passed out while running and hurt myself in the process. For a few weeks I was able to forget what I was, what I had become, I would work the fields and she would give me a roof and food in return."
"Until one day I came back 'home' from harvesting the crops and all I could see when I ente the house was blood all over the place. Thieves had taken what I longed to be, and was on my way to becoming. Remorse filled my whole being, as I knew I could have done something to help her, but didn't. That is when I realized I would only be myself, and find true redemption and foregiveness, by protecting those who are innocent. That is when I decided to become a Jedi"
A mixture of any thinkable feelings were found in Daunte once he had finished his story. He had told it with such passion that it seemed he had lived through it again. He then knelt in one knee in front of Jedi Master Amalia Azalin and spoke again.
"Can you help me m'lady? Can you please help me?" He then faced the floor and awaited a reply.

The Jedi whom stood before Dante was not at all surprised by what she had/ Many before Dante had shared many a story with her.
Amalia always had the same reaction upon every story that she listened to that was filled with tragedy, loss, sorrow, but never did she once feel condemntion for those whom told their story to her.
Instead, she would listen, listen to the pain and sorrow thar rested hidden within their voices, taking note always of what reflected in their eyes as they told their story.
The Jedi Master did not speak for several moments again as she quietly reflected on Dante's story, while still seeming to observe him as he kneeled before her.
"It is amazing how just one person can change your life in just a matter of moments. The things we take notice of within a matter of seconds, just one simple event can change our lives forever..."
Amalia paused as she crouched low so that she could meet Dante's gaze as he was kneeling, and then she spoke once more.
"The path of a Jedi is not an easy one, Dante, you will face many challanges and hardships along the way, should you accept the path of the Light. You will encounter many who were once like you, and you shall face them, but you shall face them from a different prespective. A perspective that you are not accustomed to, but that you can learn. Can you, and are you ready to, face what awaits you in the path of the Light?"

"Very well, Dante. I see no reason why you should not and can not be welcomed into this sanctuary then."
As if on que, a serving droid appeared beside Amalia, just after she had finished speaking.
"This droid will guide you to the
Training Dojo. There you will wait, patiently, along with the other students, and await a Master to teach you and take you on as his or her padawan learner. Do you have any questions before I send you on your way?"
